13 Day Inspirational Tour
for the “Bible Believing” Christian
Day 1: Depart USA for Egypt
We depart the USA on our overnight flight to Cairo.
Day 2: Cairo
Upon arrival in Cairo we are met by our guide at the airport and transferred to our hotel.
Day 3: Cairo Museum & Pyramid of Cheops
We begin our tour today at Cairo's most famous attraction, the Museum of Antiquities. The museum houses treasures from the first through the 31st dynasties of Pharaohs, including the treasures of King Tut. After exploring this amazing treasure-filled museum, our group heads out to the great Pyramid of Cheops, considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. While here we'll also see the magnificent Sphinx. Early this evening we return to our hotel.
Day 4: El Khalil Bazaar & St. Catherine Monastery
After breakfast, our group checks out of the hotel and enjoy a morning bargaining at the El Khalil Bazaar. Following shopping, we say good-bye to Cairo and drive through the Sinai Desert by St. Catherine's Monastery. Dinner and Overnight in St. Catherine area.
Day 5: Mt. Sinai & Tel-Aviv
Early this morning we follow the footsteps of Moses as we climb Mt. Sinai. We'll reach the summit by sunrise and celebrate this unforgettable moment with a morning service. As we descend the mountain, we'll see the majestic view of the desert. We'll return to our hotel for breakfast. Afterwards we'll visit St. Catherine's Monastery, the oldest on earth where monks have been witnesses to the Christian faith since the fifth century AD. We'll also visit the Chapel of the Burning Bush and the Museum of the Skull. From St. Catherine's we drive to the Taba Border and cross into Israel to the Eilat Airport. From here we fly to Tel-Aviv and transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight in Tel-Aviv.
Day 6: Caesarea, Megiddo & Nazareth
Our motorcoach drives along the Mediterranean coast to the ruins of Caesarea, the ancient Roman capital built by Herod the Great in 22 BC. We'll visit the Roman theater, aqueduct and fortress. We proceed to Haifa for a panoramic view of the city and proceed to the Carmelite Monastery. Our next stop is Megiddo, Biblical Armageddon. Since 7,000 BC, Megiddo dominated the most important international road in the Near East. The city was the center of Solomon's administration in the north. In Nazareth we'll visit Mary's Well and the Church of the Annunciation. We arrive in Tiberias, a resort town on the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Sea of Galilee Cruise & Mt. Of Beatitudes
This morning our group takes a relaxing boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Afterwards, we'll visit the Mt. of Beatitudes, the site of the Sermon on the Mount and Tabgha, site of the miracle of the loaves and fishes. We cross the Jordan River to visit Caesarea Phillipi and the Golan Heights. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.
Day 8: Jordan Baptismal Site & Jerusalem
We begin the day with a visit to Yardenit, the Baptismal Center on the River Jordan. We then proceed to Beit Shean to visit the ancient amphitheater. On our way to the Holy City of Jerusalem, we'll take a leisurely drive through the Judean Desert by Jericho, the oldest city in the world. We arrive in Jerusalem in time for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Old City & Mt. Zion
Today we'll see the main attractions of the Old City beginning at the Western (Wailing) Wall. Other exciting highlights include the Pool of Bethesda and the Church of St. Anne. We'll walk along the Via Dolorosa beginning at Pilate's Judgement Hall and ending at the church of the Holy Sepulcher. This afternoon we'll visit St. Peter in Galicantu and Mt. Zion. Here we'll visit the tomb of King David and the "Upper Room", site of the Last Supper. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 10: Mt. Of Olives & Bethlehem
Following breakfast we'll take a drive to the Mount of Olives for a sweeping view of Jerusalem and the surrounding area. We then proceed to the Church of the Ascension and the Garden of Gethsemene, where Jesus prayed before His agony. We'll see the Kidron Valley and the tombs of Absalom, Zachariah and James. Next is a visit to a scale model of the city during the time of the Second Temple. At the Shrine of the Book, located at the Israel Museum, we'll see the Dead Sea Scrolls on display. The "Chamber of Martyrs", Yad Vashem, is next on our itinerary. This moving memorial and museum is dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust. This afternoon we drive to the village of Ein Karem, the birthplace of John the Baptist. From there we drive to nearby Bethlehem and visit the Church of the Nativity and Shepherd's Field. We return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Dead Sea & Qumran Caves
Our journey today is to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea. You may notice room-sized "icebergs" floating about which are actually chunks of nearly pure salt. Next on our itinerary is Qumran, site of the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. We'll ascend the mountain top to Masada via cable car. Here 900 Jews kept 10,000 Roman soldiers at bay for more than a year. If time permits, we'll have the opportunity to "bob along" in the Dead Sea. We return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Free Day in Jerusalem
After breakfast we will enjoy an entire day free to shop and explore Jerusalem on our own. Late this afternoon we will travel to the Garden Tomb for a time of communion and personal reflection. We will enjoy a special farewell dinner this evening.
Day 13: Depart Israel for USA
This morning we are transferred to Tel-Aviv for our flight home.
